Family FAQ
Inmate search FAQ
InmateLink points families toward official lookup sources. It does not publish private custody data or replace agency records.
Does InmateLink run its own custody database?
No. InmateLink organizes official lookup links and public source context so families can find the agency source faster.
Why might a person not appear in an official lookup?
Spelling, booking timing, release status, jurisdiction, and agency update schedules can all affect search results.
Can InmateLink confirm that someone is in custody?
No. Confirm custody, release, charges, and court dates through the official agency or court source.
What should I do if the official lookup is down?
Try the agency phone number or court source, and return to the lookup later. Do not rely on third-party screenshots as final proof.
Why does InmateLink separate state, county, and city links?
Many families do not know which agency holds the record, so grouping links by jurisdiction helps narrow the search without guessing.
